Inlet Hose for BMW B58 (M140i, M240i, M340i, M440i)

When looking at the B58 engine in the M140i/240i/340i/440i engine bay, it's clear that BMW left room for modification within the inlet tract. The sound resonator and accordion ribs cause significant turbulence to the airflow, which detracts from the engine’s potential performance. By removing these and replacing them with a five-ply silicone construction, you gain several performance upgrades, including:

- A significant power gain of over 9bhp and 7nm of torque.

- Improved induction noise.

- Multi-ply silicone construction increases the longevity of the FMINLH25 compared to the OEM hose.

- The 5-ply silicone construction handles engine mapping strain much better than the OEM hose.

- Easy installation with no specialist tools in about half an hour.

Testing was conducted at Performance Remap in Gloucester using their VTEC 4-wheel-drive dynamometer. This ensured that all data was accurately measured by an independent tuner. The results speak for themselves. Additionally, the component is easy to fit and provides an affordable modification for BMW enthusiasts.

The dyno graph shows performance gains from 4500RPM to the redline, with +9BHP and +7NM of torque at peak RPM. Not only is FMINLH25 a functional improvement, but it also improves the engine bay's aesthetics, available in black and red.

A key difference in FMINLH25 is the hose diameter at the airbox end. Typically 85mm, the FMINLH25 is 90mm in diameter and uses a silicone reducer sleeve for a proper fit with the OEM airbox. This 5mm increase in diameter allows the inlet hose to work with a wider variety of airbox/intake systems while increasing volume and improving airflow compared to the OEM part.

This product is a direct fit for the OEM part 13718601682 (turbo inlet to airbox section only).

The hoses are designed to handle modern long-life coolants, Organic Acid Technology coolants (O.A.T.), or air containing oil mist. The construction exceeds OEM specifications and enhances both the technical and aesthetic aspects of the engine bay.
